I can remember the Simple Shoe Company starting out when I was a kid. We were skaters, and it seemed like a great idea to have another skate shoe on the market. Since then, the Simple Shoe Company has stepped up it’s game considerably. They have come out with the Green Toe Shoe Line, which is very eco-friendly and is a perfect way to keep your wardrobe stylish, while still doing something good for the environment.

One shoe in particular that comes to mind is the Men’s Toemorrow. This stylish shoe is made from washed organic cotton and linen uppers, has bamboo linings, uses water based chemicals, has 100% post consumer recycled paper pulp foot forms, and jute shoe laces!

Lots of information is available on the website relating to Simple’s commitment to creating eco-friendly, green products. Have a look around, chances are there is a shoe that will be exactly what you are looking for.

The shoes are $90 a pair, and come in a variety of colors.

Reusable hemp coffee filters you can keep around

Let’s be honest here: throwing away that coffee filter is a bit of an annoyance. Some of us who are hardcore coffee drinkers also know it’s troubling when you go to make that perfect cup-a-joe in the morning, and realize you forgot to buy coffee filters at the store. It’s not the most pleasant way to wake up in the morning.

There are a variety of reusable coffee filters out there, but you can’t always find one that is green or eco-friendly…something good for the environment. Well, over at Nubius Organics, they sell reusable coffee filters made from hemp fabric. All you have to do is rinse with water or a natural dish soap, and you are set to use the same filter the next day.

At $5.95 per filter, it’s the perfect way to help save paper, do something good for the environment and still retain that wonderful, dark roast that you love to wake up to every morning. Don’t forget to add your old coffee grounds to your compost pile or bin when you empty out your reusable hemp coffee filter!

The AQUS water saving system

Water Saver Technologies certainly lives up to their name. They are the creators of the AQUS System, which is an easy to install device geared towards water conservation in the bathroom.

Essentially, the main function of the AQUS System is to take water from the sink, filter it, disinfect it, and then transfer it right over to the toilet. This way, it can be used for toilet flushing. Think of all the gallons of water you can save a year just by installing an AQUS system to your home!

According to the Water Saver Technologies website, the AQUS “can save in excess of 8 gallons of fresh water per day for two person bathrooms with normal activities” (don’t question what abnormal activities are. Some things are left better unsaid). When you do the math, that’s more than 2,900 gallons per year for a two person household and quite a bit more per family of four.

You can purchase the AQUS system for your restroom from Vivavi.com for $295, and if you want to do some additional research of your own, stop by the Water Saver Technologies page at WaterSaverTech.com. As awkward as this may sound, happy flushing!
